Planning a trip around the world is something you’d typically not do within a day or two. So we took our time.

Our planning essentially reaches back more than 10 years, however, both the time and the route were far from decided at that point.

While the Corona pandemic was running wild around the globe, we decided that, once the whole thing was over, we’d start planning in earnest.

We finally got to that point in 2023.

Our first task was to think about all of the destinations we’d like to visit, and, yes, that list was long. For the entire list we’d have needed far more than a year. Not to mention a decidedly higher budget.

So we started sorting the destinations by priority, deciding which ones were more or less important.

Then we started looking at flights, trying to connect all of those points we’d selected. And what can I say… as former travel agent, I had really expected this to be easier.
